View comments for the story “What are we sacrificing?”
My Opinion
First , this is a very powerful composition …
I can tell that you are proud of and love your culture by reading it .
Second , I think that you did use a hard word in the title …
Sacrificing is not really what’s going on now …
I can’t say now there aren’t any people who deny their origins …
Yes , a lot …
But they are just so wrong to say something like “I’m Chinese outside, but American inside … ”
Actually is they’re trying to be ” American ” outside to cover their real inside …
Why ???
Maybe because they think that it sounds better when they say that they’re Americans …
But besides that , beside those people, there are many people whose ancestors were immigrants trying to find out their origins , trying to find out their cultures , and trying to conserve and develop it …
One example is clubs such as Vietnamese Club, Chinese Club , Latino Club or African American Club at school , and in our society …
They’re great activities out of and after school that help to conserve the cultures in the world …
So we can believe those cultures might not be disappeared …
